Explore an Organic Family Farm

All-natural organic foods are all the rage, it seems, all across the globe. More and more people are opting for organic foods which are foods produced from organic farming methods, certified in adherence with organic farming standards. When looking for a completely organic experience when in Hawaii, why not turn to an organic family farm for your fruits and veggies?

There are many organic farms throughout Hawaii. Let’s take a look at few:

ONO Organic Farms of Maui

A family-owned and operated farm on the Road to Hana, sells certified organic, hand-picked tropical fruit, coffee, and cacao on the southeastern portion of Haleakala volcano. Maui is the perfect environment for growing organic foods because the soil is lush and fertile. Taking advantage of the perfect conditions for growing tropical fruit, coffee and chocolate, ONO Farms is named after the Hawaiian word for “delicious.”

When you come to ONO, you can sample up to 12 varieties of tropical fruits and home-grown coffee and chocolate. Best part is, you can take a guided tour of the organic farm, but it’s best to make a reservation before heading here to be guaranteed a spot.

If you’re taking a ride along the Road to Hana, this is a must-stop for some fresh fruits that are so fresh it’s like you picked them yourself. This unique roadside market is where you can buy direct any day of the week between 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. You can sample the seasonal, fresh organic produce before you buy it, plus have access to a variety of jams and jellies, coffees and chocolate beans.
